Inclusive theater at the library “Ordinary role – a special actor”

In November 2018, on the basis of KZ “Kherson Regional Universal Scientific Library. Oles Honchar ”CHOIR launched a project – an inclusive theater at the library“ Ordinary role – a special actor ”in order to draw community attention to the problems of people with special needs, promote their social adaptation through participation in theater and other socio-cultural, educational, artistic and educational in general library activities, as well as overcoming stereotypes about the place of the modern library in society. The uniqueness of this project is that it is the first inclusive theater at the library in Ukraine.

In the two years of its existence, the actors of the inclusive theater have twice participated in the International Theater Festival “Melpomene of Tavria”. In 2020, the inclusive theater at the library “Ordinary role – a special actor” presented the play “How parrots became colorful” at the International Distance Festival “Estuary Stars”, where they won the Grand Prix, and at the International Distance Festival “Euro-Star – 2020” ( Bremen, Germany), where they took 2nd place in the nomination “Theatrical Art. Beginner”.

Theater repertoire In 2019, the inclusive theater presented to the community the play “The Adventures of a Book Fairy in the Library.” In 2020, the play “How Parrots Became Colored” (based on the audio fairy tale of the same name by F. Shapiro and M. Plyatskovsky) was shown. In the future we plan to work on a play based on Ukrainian folk tales.
